I finished watching this drama about a week ago… Watch me wreck my brain to try and remember what actually happened.
It took me approximately a second to remember that the ending was a bit…no, it was very confusing. I want to cry and go to the writers’ front door and ask what was going through their minds when they wrote that ending.
You know what? Possessed had a sucky ending. The possessed ending had me in tears, because it was that bad. I will watch it again, because really, that kind of dramatic ending deserves a review. Even though the Possessed ending wasn’t the best, it still made more sense than this one.
Like…
Okay, going on to the drama concept. The concept was great. The main female lead, Choi Mikaela could see people’s time; this already sounds like a Tumblr writing prompt. She can see the remaining time that people have, including her own. Cue dramatic music.
She barely has a hundred days left, and she is determined to live her best life. She is auditioning for every theatre show that she can in hopes that she gets accepted in at least one.
One day during her part-time job at the hospital, handsome chaebol, Lee Doha, bumps into her with his car.
She later meets him in another one of her part time jobs, where she is a diving instructor. She saves him from drowning, and while under water realises that by touching him, her time clock stops.
I honestly did not realise what was happening in that scene until it was explained a few more times, but when I got it, it was a nice revelation.
In order to prolong her life, Mikaela, or as we later came to call her, Mika, does everything in her power, including try out for a play that he produces, to prolong her life.
I learnt to love the main male lead. Honestly, I don’t think I’ve watched any of his dramas before. He looked a bit old (quite a lot), compared to his supposedly older brother. Not judging, we don’t all get the same genes. He almost always had a blank look and I got used to that. So used to it that when he started smiling, I was freaking out.
Even though the concept was cute, the way it was executed was the typical kdrama way.
There was the evil ex-girlfriend who just couldn’t get over the fact that Lee Doha loved someone who wasn’t her. She was doing everything in her power to stop Doha and Mika’s love from getting stronger.
There was the female lead’s best friend, who gives her all the good advise, because apparently she finds it hard to realise the solutions herself. There’s the female lead’s younger brother…he’s just there. Then there’s the male lead’s not-as-perfect-as-he-is older brother, who’s main goal is to see his younger brother destroyed because that’s the only way he will become his father’s favourite.
Same old story.
Did I like the drama? Yes. Would I watch it again…? If you pay me for it, I might consider it. Out of ten? I will give this one a five. If only the ending was executed better and maybe the counting down and counting up of the clock made sense. There were scenes where Mika’s clock counted up slower, and then other times the time was so fast it was ridiculous.
*cough cough* last episode *cough cough*.
It could be better really.
What did you think? Did you actually love this drama and would you watch it again?
Haven’t watched it yet? Why don’t you give it a watch and let’s talk about it.
